The Story Behind Impromptu Parties

Hosting parties has been a hobby and passion of Kerry’s for many years. Like most moms, she enjoys getting family and friends together, eating good food & creating lasting memories. Her favorite part of entertaining has always been the planning, design and craft work that goes into throwing a creative party.

Unfortunately, as a working mom, Kerry lacked the necessary time it took to plan every last detail for a grandiose, fabulous party. Working full time and running a household left very little time to visit numerous party supply and craft stores, searching for the perfect item. And she just cringed at the thought of throwing a generic party filled with trademarked characters!

The Idea Emerges

While planning her son’s second birthday party, Kerry thought to herself,

“there has to be an easier way for busy moms to throw a beautiful, creative & crafty party without a lot of time or effort! There has to be a company somewhere that offers all inclusive party packages that look homemade, for those moms that want to be like Martha Stewart but just don’t have the time.”

Fortunately, Kerry couldn’t find one. And so, the idea for Impromptu Parties was born.

As the plan for Impromptu Parties evolved, Kerry realized busy moms are not the only ones that could benefit from her party packages… teachers, college students, single parents, grandparent…basically everyone could use a ‘mail order party planner.’

Impromptu Parties was the very first company to offer handcrafted, custom designed party items, combined with everyday party supplies to form the ultimate, all inclusive party box, for every busy and sophisticated host and hostess.

Like her mentor, the Goddess of Crafting & Entertaining, Martha Stewart, Kerry’s motto is to “Make it Beautiful & Make a Difference.”
